My Story

Jessica founded H2H after more than 15 years as a licensed therapist.  She’s been a trauma therapist in private practice, worked on research with suicidal service members at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC and worked for the largest federal healthcare system in the country.  In fact, working with service members and Veterans is where her heart is.

She comes from a family of service, with her father, brothers, and husband all having served in the Army and Navy.  This is part of where her passion for helping service members and veterans originated, but it goes much deeper.  Jessica pursued social work as a career because of her deeply held beliefs in justice and fairness.

When she began to see first-hand some of the barriers veterans face when seeking help, it consumed her.  It felt fundamentally wrong to think that people who chose to wear the uniform, knowing full well they could die in it, would be met with roadblocks when trying to get help, be well, or pursue a life after service.

Veterans sacrificed enough while serving, they should not have to continue to sacrifice their health, mental health, their peace, their families, or their dreams.  Jessica knew there was a better way and she used everything she saw and learned to build it.

Jessica is married to the cute Managing Partner of H2H Consulting, and together they have two beautiful boys and two very loved dogs. Jessica’s family is her dream come true, and she lives to help as many people as she can see their dreams come true as well.
